Our MMA is based on the Japanese Daido Juku or Kyokushin Budo Kai perspective of mixed martial arts. We focus on the principals of Budo and moral ethics within the circumference of reality based all around fighting; using the martial disciplines we believe to be most effective.
Our perspective is conceptually based on the four distances of combat as derived from Bruce Lee's JKD system; Focusing selected martial disciplines in to an appropriate distance of free fighting-integrating smooth flow between styles and distances of combat. Our out-fighting arts primarily utilize the Boxer puncher style of Boxing and full contact ITF-Taekwon-Do for it's allusive angles of attack, powerful kicks and vicious counter striking technique. Our In-fighting arts are a combination of Dirty Boxing and Dutch Kickboxing-allowing our fighters to destroy the limbs and close the distance.
Our trapping distance utilizes Keysi fighting to Clinch technique from both a Catch wrestling and Muay Thai perspective via throws, knees, elbow strikes, counter striking and pummeling. Inside the clinch we cross utilize Catch Wrestling attacks for it's hybrid and punishing use of the various throws and takedowns of Free-style and Greco Roman wrestling, Sambo Judo and Japanese Jujitsu.
On the ground we employ Combat Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Catch wrestling as to finish our opponent via punishing ride, crank, rip or submission! Our MMA is a no-nonsense approach to mixed martial arts, focusing free fighting and MMA from a non-sport GI and NOGI perspective.
Our MMA is the most realistic application of full contact mixed martial arts with out actually getting in to a street fight, maintaining the Budo spirit of traditional martial discipline. Grappling gloves, shin pads, mouth guard, athletic supporter and optional Full faced head gear are required. At Nogi Shoot Box MMA We study violence as to escape it and believe that hard training and superior technique win fights. Period! OSU!
